CAN'T FIND TREASURE? DRAW TREASURE, AND TREASURE SHALL BE YOURS.

Announcing: A very special contest! (No digging necessary!)

In attempt to accelerate the recovery of the elusive 12, I have concluded that it is time to widen the net of our investigation and reach beyond our elite Junior Deducer community. We must take our search to the people, people!  The time for action is upon us, and thus I have metaphorically seized the proverbial bull by the allegorical horns, publicizing the missing jewels the best way I know how: a lost & found poster.

I think I did a pretty nice job, but I came up a bit empty in that one little spot in the middle.  I've been thinking about this 12 morning, noon, and night — before breakfast, during lunch, after dinner, all through fondue, etc — but I can't seem to picture the actual thing itself. This mystery is mysterious, sleuths!

And so I now turn to you, as I have again and again. (I haven't been disappointed yet.) We need a speculative image of this cloaked treasure! I've passed along the wisps of rumor that have crossed my desk (here, here, and here) — now it is upon the doodlers among you to blend fact with hope (plus a sprinkling of emeralds) (and a dollop of pudding) and create a sketch of that for which we all yearn.

To help speed the artistic process, our organization's metallurgical expert Anna Sheffield has agreed to reward the three boldest sketchers with hand-forged number pendants. Email your best visions of the 12 to me at gustwintig@gmail.com, and soon they will be adorning bulletin boards, telephone poles, and milk cartons across the land. Help me fill my square, finish the poster, and defeat the snotty Dodge!

Ms. Lee: Glitter glue, googly eyes, whatever it takes. Special consideration will be given to the juniorest deducers.

Mermaid: We will let the art dictate the dates, I think. Maybe two weeks?

Anxiously awaiting information about these speculative images....

What kind of scam is this? Why is there no more information about the winners and why doesn't anyone have the decency to answer the posted questions?

August 7, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterben

I highly doubt it's a "scam" Ben. I'm sure they have a lot of entries to judge (which is not as easy as it sounds). Patience is key!
